Aperitivo
Kalecik Karası Rosé Spritz
The Veneto's favourite long drink, poured pink with Anatolia's native grape.
The Story
The spritz began in the Veneto under Habsburg rule, when Austrian soldiers found the local wines too strong and asked for a spritzen — a splash of water. The splash became soda, the wine became the base of Italy's aperitivo hour, and the spritz became one of the most ordered drinks in the world.
Kayra's Kalecik Karası Rosé — strawberry, rose petal, and citrus from Ankara's ancient native grape — makes a spritz that needs no bitter liqueur at all: just cold soda, ice, and a slow evening.
